Here I am again…

I’ve slowly started getting back into my domain again.
I’ve started by blowing the dust of my Ubuntu system, giving it a good clean and update and then started to look at my domain.

Anybody who knows me will tend to realize I am quite a quiet person, who will very rarely share personal thoughts or go into detail about the things that affect me.
Needless to say, this is one of those times again, where I have had to pull myself out off a spell of depression.
I dare say I am not fully out of it, and it is probably one of the longest periods of depression I have faced to date.
I’m not going to go into mega amounts of detail, and I will stress that this and previous posts are not a cry out for help, it’s not a sympathy vote, it is merely the way I cope with things, a release if you will.
Never the less, hopefully, I will be engaging more with the domain and I may end up picking up old software projects and see if I can’t give it a new lease of life.

Right now, I am looking at my site and thinking “does that need to be there”.
I’ve said it before, countless times that the site lacks direction and purpose.

I have too many things on the go and I’m finding it impossible to do it all. From additions to updates I am failing.

So whilst the site itself may seem a little redundant and very little changes, behind the scenes I am tackling the tough decisions of what to keep and what to axe.
The main reason I have that many things on the go with the domain is purely because I like the software. It may sound strange, but I like to learn new things, so installing new software to try out and learn is mainly the reason I do it in the first place.

So, the plan is, is to cut down on the crap, shave down what I’ll keep and stick to some sort of order that is manageable and not critically time-consuming.

As always to the people who regularly visit or contact me, thank you.

Knackered, but pleasantly pleased…

I’ve been working a little more on the Chuckles n Such website.
I’ve started tinkering with the stylesheets to get the look I want. Its not perfect and a few more tweaks are needed here and there. In addition, I’ve begin round two of collating images ready to be uploaded to the site, and they’re coming in thick and fast…

Again, I have been doing to background work over on the main Hub, a few tweaks etc just to smooth out a few glitches etc.
Other than that, the site is rocketing with visitors, more than I ever conceived.
In comparison, this site has nearly doubled rbcsoftware.co.uk’s yearly traffic in the space of three months, so well chuffed with that.

I’m now off to research a banner exchange program to try and generate even more traffic :o)

What an evening!

What an evening!
I got loads done, but not made a dent in what I need to do. Still, one highlight of the evening was finding some old pictures and videos I found of Caitlin.
I’ve converted them to a compatible iPhone format so Caitlin can watch them in the morning.
I’ve deviated from the original plan and started playing with RVSitebuilder to create a photo gallery. I’m still toying with the idea and it may not go ahead nut at least I’ve learnt something new.
Off to bed now…

More updates

More added to website today.
I’ve started to upload my art work, my music and some random files such as the games I’ve found from around the web.

Eventually (and once I’ve figured out how) I will be added my games section with all the shockwave flash games I’ve come across.

But for now, this chicken is off to bed, nitey nite

Delays, delays and more delays…

Everytime I want to do something, it cocks up.

Firstly, the phoneline goes off.
It comes back on, yey!
I’m on my arse, as I am so poorly and unable to edit website.
I get well  again.
Phone line goes off again.
Phone line  gets restore.
Illness comes back, and I’m back on my arse again…

So b*lls to it, if this is an exceptionally frustrated, angry and shocking post, I really couldn’t give a flying monkeys testicle.

Anyway, seeing as the main topic of conversation seems to be the recent phoneline outages, I aint going to mention any names, but we all know who they are that did it.
Sooo…STOP F**KING DOING IT!
Next time, I hope they manage to cut a wire wrong and get electrocuted, pikey b**t**ds.

Thats one less thing on my chest, which is more than can be said for all the mucus I’m spitting up, gross I know, but hey…like I said, I’m in a “dont care” mood.

I’ve just been reading about how Ian Huntley, the Soham Murderer, has had his throat cut and been taken to an outside hospital today (21 March 2010).
Is it me, or should they have left b**t**d to die, then take him out to some woodland area and burn him, as he did those poor girls, Holly and Jessica.
I know you shouldn’t wish negativity on another human being, but for what that guy did, dont get me started.

Anyway, I’m off now…suddenly decided I can’t be bothered :o)

Just kidding, just really tired…

RBCSoftware will be 4 soon!

Yup, thats right. 4 years in the making.

Regular visitors will have seen the site develop from the earlier versions of RBCSoftware before I implemented Wordpress.

How the site has grown!

I know I say it everytime, but (yet) again, I would like to thank everyone (past and present) who has ever been a part of RBCSoftware.

Right now, I’m preparing to go back to work tomorrow. Its seems the longer you stay away from the place, the more I WANT to be away from the place.

Still, I’ll keep trucking on, as they say.

There are a few new additions to RBCSoftware too, firstly Cadava (aka Chris) has joined and is currently building his very own blog, and to say I only installed it for him about 2 days ago, and had a brief session going through the basics of using WordPress blogs, its come on leaps and bounds.

Have a butchers cadava.rbcsoftware.me.uk.

Also, a big hello and welcome to my Uncle Geoff, who has also joined the members list.

Thats all for now folkes, as I’m having one last brew, then I’m off to bed. Need sleep.

Since my holidays started, I’ve been going to bed on average, around 3am…not good.

Once again,

HAPPY 4th BIRTHDAY RBCSOFTWARE!

– Roy

Updates and various other crap!

Amongst other things, I have finally started uploading all the photos, that were previously on here, but somehow got lost!?!?

To view the new photo album visit http://rbcsoftware.me.uk/viewpics/.

Minor updates overall have been made with Fetch!
The error module is up and running, although a few new ideas will be incorporated in there soon. The module itself, maybe released under a ‘ware’ licence, for which I haven’t decided a name for it.
Custom ‘ware’ licences seem to be cropping up everywhere these days, so I thought ‘sod it, I’m gonna invent one’.
And so I shall god dammit!

For those not familiar with ‘ware’ licences, first, where have you been? and secondly, never heard of FREEware, SHAREware, SMILEware etc?
No?
OK

Anyways, family news, Babs has got 2(!) new jobs, granted, she will only be excepting the one, but hey, 2 JOBS!
Other, quite shocking news, is that the Jones’s household has their Christmas tree up.
DON’T ASK!

Ba Humbug!

As the news is quite low, and I’m tired, and I have work in the morning, I’m going to bed.

Night night!

PS. Get ready for a new rant/grudge about “I’m a celebrity, get me out of here!”

Day 1: Project – Fetch!

Right, so here it is.
After much delay, Project: Fetch! has now begun.

Fetch! (Previously known as XPRunnerNG) development has started, with the first signs of life being down on paper rather than any PC.
After spending a number of years developing test releases of XPRunnerNG, seeing what works and what doesn’t, I have essentially stripped to the bone XPRunnerNG.

I have big plans for Fetch! and I already have a number of ideas for addins etc.
However, that is for the near future.

I will be keeping logs, and making updates as they happen, including the full application history with regards to XPRunnerNG.

Many thanks to all who support my ideas, and certainly to the ones who have helped financially and with the overall development of XPRunnerNG/Fetch!

Regards
