Here I am again…

I’ve slowly started getting back into my domain again.
I’ve started by blowing the dust of my Ubuntu system, giving it a good clean and update and then started to look at my domain.

Anybody who knows me will tend to realize I am quite a quiet person, who will very rarely share personal thoughts or go into detail about the things that affect me.
Needless to say, this is one of those times again, where I have had to pull myself out off a spell of depression.
I dare say I am not fully out of it, and it is probably one of the longest periods of depression I have faced to date.
I’m not going to go into mega amounts of detail, and I will stress that this and previous posts are not a cry out for help, it’s not a sympathy vote, it is merely the way I cope with things, a release if you will.
Never the less, hopefully, I will be engaging more with the domain and I may end up picking up old software projects and see if I can’t give it a new lease of life.

Right now, I am looking at my site and thinking “does that need to be there”.
I’ve said it before, countless times that the site lacks direction and purpose.

I have too many things on the go and I’m finding it impossible to do it all. From additions to updates I am failing.

So whilst the site itself may seem a little redundant and very little changes, behind the scenes I am tackling the tough decisions of what to keep and what to axe.
The main reason I have that many things on the go with the domain is purely because I like the software. It may sound strange, but I like to learn new things, so installing new software to try out and learn is mainly the reason I do it in the first place.

So, the plan is, is to cut down on the crap, shave down what I’ll keep and stick to some sort of order that is manageable and not critically time-consuming.

As always to the people who regularly visit or contact me, thank you.

Hi All,

Long time no see…
Well, truth is, I’ve been a little self absorbed.
Ultimately trying to sort my head out.

Those who know me will know that from time to time I go through phases where I pretty much think “Screw it all!”.

Over these last few months, it has been one of those times and even now I’m having trouble focusing on things I really should be.

This blog is the only place where I feel I can speak openly and freely without ridicule or judgment.
At the moment, I’m just concentrating on being me, rather than trying to please people all the time.

I’m not very good and speaking in the fullest abouts my feelings etc, but a little part of my emotions comes out one in a while in posts etc.
Nobody likes to read the rantings of a moaner I guess, and thats probably why everyone tends to see me as “fun loving” Roy which sometimes is a strain in itself.

Anywhoo, this is the way I deal with things, so thats that off my chest ūüôā

I must really get my arse into gear an work on the site lol

All in good time

This new pace of work life is going to take it’s toll as far as site & software development goes. That’s just life unfortunately.

I have, sort of, planned my time around my family (as they will always come first), so updates may be thin on the ground until we can weed out bits and pieces.
I mainly update and develop of an evening or when it’s feasible to do so, ie when Jack is asleep on his day naps etc, but as tiredness is my main enemy sometimes the best laid plans are disrupted by the dreaded zzz factor :0)

Anyway, at least if there is a gap between updates there would be more content in single posts instead of multiple little posts.

Speaking of the zzz factor, it’s ganged up on me now, so nite nite. x0/

Long time, no speaky & no writey

Well, I’ve been working on a new project. This time it is in relation to Defiance, Barnsley’s number one Hard Dance event.

Basically, I offered my services as there was an issue with the original site, and I offered to help, sort of my contribution to the scene.

The link is:

Initially, the site is up and running as before, with some new features in there. New stuff will be added gradually as I liaise with the Owner and Promoter of Defiance Shane, AKA MC Genius.

That is about that really. I’ve spent so much time editing images, rewritting CSS scripts etc, that I have hardly had anytime to update much else.

Other than that, is everyone ready for Christmas?

I’m almost ready! Sick of spending money though!!!

Still, to see my daughter’s face when she opens her presents on Christmas Day will make it all worth while.

More soon, but for now…tat ta

Geez, the stress

After hurting my back in a snow related incident, I have finally decided to right another post!
Anyway, first complaint is Google adsense! Having configured correctly using two different methods, I still cannot get up and running. This site is my RBC’ Adsense domain.
The frustration continues.

Second, has anyone else been watching “The Walking Dead” on FX. I gotta say it’s awesome! Last part next week and I gotta say how they portrayed the ‘zombie apocalypse’ was great. One part in the first episode was where the main character (name escapes me at present) how he looks at one of the zombies, in a forgiving, pitying way. Sort of a ‘I know you were was human’ respect. Pretty deep and meaningful!

Anyways, more later, u need to feed

As many of you will have already seen (the landingpage) is now up and running. It will be the source or gateway if you will, to all things RBCSoftware, whether it be The Blog! (this thing your reading now, (which as been renamed The Blog!)), my art work, my music or store (still under development at time of writing).

Along side this, I have also setup and additional site ( which, once integrate will be replacing my Error 404 pages etc.

A few minor adjustment to the Blog! has also taken place, namely navigation and a few tweaks here and there with the look.

As always, I hope you like what I have to offer, and keep coming back for new things. Again, please update your bookmarks etc to which is the new landing page/gateway.

Onto slightly more, morbid news, due to personal issues, certain things cannot be completed the way I intended, I know what your probably all thinking “Same old story”, but as with anything in life, nothing is certain, and even the best laid plans can go “tits” up.

So, over time, things will start to change/disappear from the site in a bid to make the whole of RBCSoftware Domain easier to cope with.
As previously mentioned, this was largely a “rota” system I was going to put in place so I had “dedicated” chucks of time to the whole operation. I have tried to get other people involved to help out, but unfortunately, the ones who said initially that they could help, no longer can.

That’s life I’m afraid, so the whole “caboodle” is down to me, the updates, the maintenance, the uploading, sorting you name it, I do it.

So please be patient, I do have a lot to offer, but it takes time.
Thanks in advance for all your support, the constant visitors and emails I receive are allows a big “pusher” on motivation.

Back soon…

PS. As you have may have seen, there are a number of posts that dont seem to make sense. These are becomes they are snippets from my responses to a good friend Deano aka DJ Flight regards to his recent activities. In sort, Deano is fed up and tired of the crappy English weather and decided at a “drop of a hat” to sod off to Canada to see his Auntie…must be nice huh?
Anyway, Deano, if your reading this, have a good trip dood.

Radical changes

After alot of considerations and doing the math on site visits etc, I’m currently pondering the idea of a “one stop” site.
Having everything in one place would make it easier on the databases, and would also free up a few too. Some things would remain separate, such as my art work, as it would be simpler to sort and view.
Of course, this is only an idea and may not go through. We shall see.
If any one has any ideas or suggestions please email me at the usual place,

Cheers in advance… to stay open!

From the sombre mode, to total elation!

Yes, RBCSoftware is able to remain open.

So I would just like to thank (again!) my Uncle Geoff for his kind help,  without which, would have just been another distant memory within a few weeks.

Other news, I will shortly be switching broadband providers, and although there should be no interruption to connection, I may be offline for a short time.
I’m switching from Sky to TalkTalk, and here is the reason why…
For £18.99 Sky offer me 40gb bandwidth limitation, 2mb connection and sod all else!
TalkTalk…¬£6.99 (Free for 1st six months) 40gb bandwidth limitation, 3mb connection…
Real no brainer!
Granted, I know there are other providers out there that more than likely do better deals, but I’ve made my choice!

Amidst the long weekend I have off (Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues & Wed (Yey!)) I plan on catching up with a few projects that are long over due.
To name but one, Fetch! (The new project taking over XPRunnerNG) is starting to take shape.

Loading times have been optimized by re-writing old, cumbersome scripts and generally freshened up by de-clogging the program from unwanted image files etc which adds bloat to the final compile application.

Generally speaking, the progress is slow, but steady with Fetch! and I’m really wanting to take my time with this one, now that XPRunnerNG (the¬†Genuine¬†Pig) has been tested, ripped apart and¬†dissected in the world of VB programming.

2010 is the time I really want to focus on getting a partner to help run the site, you know, write posts, maintain, make the teas, general sort of stuff.
At the moment, there are no takes, so if you are interested, please email

For now, thank you visiting, please keep on visiting and tell your friends.
