Up an coming changes

Over the coming weeks I will be developing my music part of the domain. Changes will include all current media being removed from playlists & streaming. Every month I plan on doing a live mix, recording it and makig it available for download.
All the old stuff will still be made available (to download only) from a new section ‘Legacy’.
The legacy section will also include my software I developed under Destiny Creations all those years ago.
More on this as it happens…
Incidentally, the music section, as it becomes available in its new format, will still be available under iTunes podcast service too, but the old material will not, only as a direct download from RBCSoftware itself.

Is it just me that thinks that this….

Royal wedding coverage is getting out of hand?

So, most TV stations are gearing up to cover Kate & William’s big day from 6am?
What are they going to show?
Kate getting dressed or taking a shower?

The other thing that amazes me, is the wedding is so time conscious, one newspaper even reported that, and I quote;
‘1.26pm – Kate and William share a kiss on the balcony in front of the crowds’

First, who gives a flying do-da?
Second, ‘at 1.26pm’ how precise is this thing being planned to?
Thirdly, Has no-one ever seen anyone kiss before?

Personally, the ONLY footage I’d want to see, is the wedding night! Put that on Pay-per-view and I’d tune in!

PMSL

Yeah its a big day for them, but I think its really going to far all this coverage and all the hype…

Rant over!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Having consumed more alcohol than I care to remember over the Christmas period, it is set to get worse ready for the new year too!

So before the networks get clogged up with messages wishing all the best, here’s mine.

Have a safe but fun new year, all the best and I wish you peace and prosperity.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

How many of these can fit into your work?

Business Rules, or at least they can be associated with the job you work in!

I can only please one person per day. Today is not your day. Tomorrow is not looking good either.

I love deadlines. I especially like the Whooshing sound they make as they go flying by.

Tell me what you need, and I’ll tell you how to get along without it.

Accept that some days you are the pigeon and most days the statue.

Needing someone is like needing a parachute. If he isn’t there the first time, chances are you won’t be needing him again.

I don’t have an attitude problem, you have a perception problem.

Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where the fuck is the ceiling?

My reality check bounced.

On the keyboard of life, always keep one finger on the escape key.

I don’t suffer from stress. I am a carrier.

You are slower than a herd of turtles stampeding through peanut butter.

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, because you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

Everyone is someone else’s weirdo.

Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

A pat on the back is only a few centimetres from a kick in the butt.

Don’t be irreplaceable – if you can’t be replaced, you won’t be promoted.

After any salary raise, you will have less money at the end of the month than you did before.

The more crap you put up with, the more crap you are going to get.

You can go anywhere you want if you look serious and carry a clipboard.

Eat one live toad the first thing in the morning and nothing worse will happen to you for the rest of the day.

When bosses talk about improving productivity, they are never talking about themselves.

If at first you don’t succeed, try again. Then quit. No use being a damn fool about it.

There will always be beer cans rolling on the floor of your car when the boss asks for a ride home from the office.

Everything can be filed under ‘miscellaneous’.

Never delay the ending of a meeting or the beginning of the cocktail hour.

To err is human, to forgive is not our policy.

Anyone can do any amount of work provided it isn’t the work he/she is supposed to be doing.

If you are good, you will be assigned all the work. If you are really good, you will get out of it.

You are always doing something marginal when the boss drops by your desk.

If it wasn’t for the last minute, nothing would get done.

At work, the authority of a person is inversely proportional to the number of pens that person is carrying.

When you don’t know what to do, walk fast and look worried

The last person that quit or was fired will be held responsible for everything that goes wrong.

Proof that light travels faster than sound, someone may look intelligent, until they open their mouth.

New Tunes available!

Theres a couple of new tunes/mixes available over at RBCSoftware Music Centre (here). Namely a 30 minute Gabber mix and a 1hr of cheesy Dance music (Mainly Basshunter).
These were done some time ago, whilst I was testing some new DJ software, this is the result. Not great mixes by a long chalk, but put on there for, if nothing else, for nostalgia.

Just to clarify too, the Dance mix was mainly Basshunter, as Caitlin my daughter is a massive fan and loves to jump and dance around to his choons. Bless her.

Recently I have received alot of email regards to all my software projects and requests for software. I can honestly say I have had no time to concentrate on any software projects over the last couple of months as previous posts suggests. 2011 is my defining year, and the time when I plan to really push my software projects.
As a result, and as a few of you have already noticed, the download central is currently down.
I think the main problem is, I thought it would be easy to maintain all aspects of RBCSoftware, and clearly it isnt!
So from January 2011, I will be discipling myself and creating a “Rota” system to better manage my time and RBCSoftware.

As always, thank you to all the regular readers, contributers & listeners that boost my motivation to keep RBCSoftware alive.

Blog time

A quick post just to say I haven’t forgot about you all, it’s just I’m just getting into night shift work and until I settle into routine, posts may be few and far between.
I’ll (of course) keep you updated with all the usual rants, updates etc, but for now, need to chill. It’s 3am, I’ve just finished all my “housework” and waiting for on the buses to come on…classic

Well, well, well

Where do I start?

A lot of things have happened since my last post.
1) My time with British Gas is now at an end, I have moved on to other climbs within support work. I’m glad to say I left on a very positive note and will be sad to leave the place, but I need to move on.

In addition to this, for people I worked with at British Gas I will be, shortly, posting a final message to you all.

2) I’ve just been doing some site related stuff and found that RBCSoftware – Learning by Design has just recently celebrated…wait for it…

Just over 2,000,000 unique visits (2,001,556 to be precise!) since the site was launched way back in 2007.
Now I know to some, that this amount within 3 years is quite feable, and to a degree I agree! I think overall it is quite an impressive amount for the input I put in.
So thank you one and all to all the people that keep visiting and to all those who have visited in the past.

Fetch! news now…
Things are hotting up in the Fetch! development with some cool new features in there. So far, the download its self is not available as I really do want this program to work 100% before general release. Also, there are a number of known bugs in the code which I am currently working around.
Now that I will be working 4 on 4 off shift patterns, it does give me the opportunity to work more on my projects and sites.

As with many things however, things get left by the wayside and I’m sorry to report that several aspects of my work has suffered as a result.
My DJ and download central projects are but two of these aspects that have been greatly effected, hopefully that will be put right.

Well, our boys are out of the world cup after losing 4-1 to Germany, to be fair should have been 4-2 (that bloody ref, and lines men are to blame!). Still, we have to admit that we were out played, but well done to England anyway.
I don’t normally watch football, as my previous rants may indicate the reasons why, but I still felt the urge to spur our team on, after all it is the World Cup!

Anywhoo, I’m off for the moment, gotta wake Babs up and take her out for lunch (before anyone asks, no shes not lazy, just recovering from a night shift!).

Bye for now!
